Hello,

I have a Planet ADE-4100 ADSL router. Does anyone know if I can change router settings through command line functions ? Basically I would like to have one command line function to Connect and one to Disconnect to the WAN. I'm not sure if there are general router command line functions that do this or if its router specific. I can log into the router settings through the browser and connect/disconnect that way, but if I could make a .bat file to do those commands on my desktop it would make life alot easier for me and the other people using my PC. Any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance to all who respond.

have you tried bridgemode or do you want your rutr to be logged out of internet?
why not just pull the plug:D

For some reason, my download speeds slow down to a snails pace after every 30 minutes or so. If I disconnect and reconnect I get back to full speed. Doing this through the browser isn't that much of a problem for me because I am computer literate, however, there are other people that use my PC for internet access and I wouldnt want them logging into the router to reset it. My idea was to create two .bat files such as 'connect.bat' and 'disconnect.bat' and then run a scheduling program every 30 minutes that would disconnect the router and then reconnect the router once more by running the respective .bat files.

If anyone else can suggest any other solution on how I can schedule my router to disconnect and then reconnect every 20-30 minutes , please feel free to do so :)

You should have a setting in the router something along these lines: Close connection if idle for......

That way, you could set it to about 5 minutes, if you open up a browser window, it should reconnect again. It's not as fancy as like you'd like do it, but it should work ;)
