I have a Sony W810 cellphone and was wondering if it was possible to install predictive text for writing SMS's in another language such as Afrikaans?

It works on the pre loaded languages, as for Afr, I think it needs to be loaded on the phone, dont think its ever been done. Zulu and Sotho is available.

I know with nokias it's possible to retrain the dutch dictionary to do afrikaans, but it takes a wee bit of time and effort on the user's part

My Nokia 6680 only has 3 languages: English, French & German. Why is that? Would love to have Afrikaans or Dutch.

More:
I saw on the T9 site that an Afrikaans database has been developed. However I have no idea how to obtain it or how to install it on my phone and my googling is not very successful. I have however sent a message to Sony Ericsson asking for help.

The T9 dictionary is probably designed for Symbian 'smart' phones.
Can't see any way to do it with the 800 series on the SE site.

Lol dont want to start nothing "again" But SE have the best T9 dictionary!

The latest version of software for the Nokia 1100 has Afrikaans +T9 Dictionary.

Sadly I don't have my Nokia firmware list here, but I think on new Nokia's if you have the Afrikaans language pack it comes with the T9 Dictionary.

Not sure you'll see Afrikaans on anything but entry level to mid-range handsets.
