My cousin is a paraplegic and he can't feel anything from the waist down. Maybe the pipes for the water for the toilet were mixed up with the ones for hot shower taps? Just does not make a lot of sense. The water would have cooled down in the tank if it was a mix up. Unless they have installed bidets in prison and he does not know how to use it properly.

Well, if it is a toilet that is used often then a constant flow of searing hot water is totally possible if connected to a hot water pipe. I am wondering how this happened? Which idiot hooked it up the wrong way? Or perhaps the prison authorities finally woke up and decided to make prison even less hospitable for our country's flourishing criminals.

sheesh! and Eskom encourages us to turn down the hot water temp to save electricity. how the hell did they land up with water hot enough to scald??

You'll probably find that the prisons use gas for their heating purposes.

We have a central gas heating system for our water and sometimes it comes out scalding hot (in the tap) thankfully nothing like this has ever happened, guess you have to mix a gas heating system with a strong dose of incompetence and voila you've got a mess
