Hi there!

I would like to say hi to the forum and say how proud I am to be the newest unsubscriber of MyWireless.

Helloooo darkness my old friend....

Hey - welcome to the club ! [8D]

I shall be spending a "up yours nedbank" R85 putting a stop order on my account this month. Although I've been assured my contract will terminate November 30 and that I won't be billed another cent, I think I'll err on the side of caution [:)]

So, did you also sell your soul to Hellkom again ?

bb_matt, no, infact, wednesday I decided to call up WBS and get myself iburst. It is freaking awesome... I suggest you get it as well to test it out. You have a 7 day window period to back out, plus, their prelaunch phase is only 454 per month for 24 months including the modem (which of course will rise to 699 when they launch)

no cap as of yet, so you have free reign. I'm telling everyone I know to get iburst just so we can get a decent customer count before they actually officially launch, that way we know they're not another sentech, check my posts in the iburst forum, I list ALL the points that sold me IMMEDIATLY

Been there done that noone - I appreciate your confidence and excitement, it sounds great - but after what happened with Sentech, I'd would rather wait and see.

My ADSL will be a month-2-month - I can just cancel anytime, so if in 10 months from now, iBurst is offering a decent service, I'll definately consider it.

However, I refuse to pay for a service where local is capped and traffic is aggressively shaped. The local I cannot afford to have capped and so far, that's apparently what iBurst may do on official launch.

Then there's the case of the 24 month contract - no way !
Never again !

its easier to get out of the 24 month contract, unlike Sentech it's flexible, I already found out. If you want then you can buy the modem upfront in 4 months time or whatever, and switch to month to month

read my posts on iburst forum and give your comments, I personally think they've got something right, but I know what you are saying dude, just that, WBS and Sentech are like chicks, both do generally the same thing, but you can't judge one on what the other did

the only thing that pisses me off about iBurst is their cap that they plan to implement. I think Sentech are far more genrous with their cap but then they know no one will ever reach that cap :p

3Gb is a farking stupid cap for a price tag of R700.00

I would rather keep Sentech because atleast locally I get blistering speeds and that was the primary reason why I bought it. I do hope that their INterntional speed increases but I know by the time my contract ends... I will have more choices.

I do hope the best for iBurst though and when I did contact them they certainly had a better tone then Sentech... but time will tell.

myWireless 128, 64, 48, 16 - depends on its mood.

noone: Yep I guess "Big Boobs 9" will never hurt you unless you get... er... "tennis wrist" [;)]

vowthorn: From word on the iBurst section it seems WBS may be looking into their packages again after the negative reaction with their initial offerings. There will probably still be a cap but hopefully they relax it a little bit and remove the restrictions on non-standard ports and protocols. If they do this it will certainly cause headaches for both Telkom and Sentech. I'm cautiously optimistic at this point.

So if I sign for R464 (24 months contract) during the prelaunch phase,
will I pay R464 for the whole contract period or just for the prelaunch period??
