Psp Specials ?

VODACOM deal is a standard 2 year WEEKENDER contract @ R135 excluding calls (standard WEEKENDER) and you get a FREE PSP :) Just picked mine up and registered the unit online for my FREE "Spiderman" UMD, now I just got to get some games ;) Will play with the unit tonight, so far seems like a nice "toy" just got to figure out how to integrate it into my car :) PIMP MY RIDE!!!
 
Choice of Motorola something or other and some other Samsung, I paid in a bit extra and got a Sharp GX15
 
I was thinking about taking the Cell contract option but doing the U.K Visa thing next year and didn't wanna be bogged down. But then again my Moto V600 is barely holding together, i'm very harsh on phones.

All in all i'm pretty happy with my PSP, only 12 games on the selection at the moment but more coming next month, gotta get over the cramp in my thumb ;)

Yes, I registered yesterday... will wait and see, it is being distributed by Ster Kinekor so should arrive ;)
 
Frack 'n hell (guess who's been watchin Galactica) the memory sticks cost a pretty penny. 3rd the price of the console is the 1GB card.
 
Dominic can i have the direct link for the memory card from Take2 because I cant seem to find it.

Also for those who are interested the firmware downgrader from 2.00 to 1.50 have been released. I downloaded it from my fav torrent site. Havent tried it yet though.

Don't use it! Unless you want to brick your PSP! There is no downgrader at the moment, besides rather wait for a launcher for firmaware 2.0 as a lot of the newer games will not work on 1.5 or 1.5x
 
Yeah, i too have been scouring the net and there is no known way yet to downgrade to 1.5 from 2.0 .

Hmmmmm, hope it's not too late.

On the Wireless Scan, has anyone attempted to connect to an access point using there PSP, between my house and my GF's my PSP detected 9 Wireless Access Points........ the possibilities ..... ;)

:) I'm in the process of setting a WAP enviroment at work, so will see what happens. I'm aiming it specificaly towards PSP users ;)
 
lol. I was tempted to try and connect to the Access Points on route but i'm a paranoid bugger and was worried Sony could link my serial to my Mac Address if push came to shove (registered on yourpsp.com) .

Looking to extend the wifi range of your PSP ?

Has the downgrader been released and tested yet? Has anyone done this locally?

Couple questions about the PSP as well

With homebrew software, is it possible to stream movies from a server somehow (via the wireless)?
Also, what other apps (homebrew) do you guys use, and what do you use them for?

Yep, upgraded to 2.0 then downgraded.

Sucky thing is you loose your Web Browser, ability to set background pics and themes & ..... yes &, UMD Audio isn't supported in 1.50 .

Emu's were fun for about 2 days, going back to 2.00 .

Uhhm. Have'nt tried many homebrews.

installed the SNES Emulator and played Super Mario 3 (which i legally own, i just dont have the 16bit console anymore).
Streaming Video, not that i know of. I know some chaps are working on streaming radio and Sony has hinted on Streaming TV.

psphacks.net is a good place to start.
