hopefully heaven but probably hell
hey all... okay daythree with iBurst...

Still happy but a couple of questions...

When I installed all the stuff required I have this "Local Area Connection 2" that now appears each time I dial in... It sits in my system tray with a yellow exclaimation point and when I dial into iBurst I get the follwoing warning...

'Limited or no connectivity

You might not be able to access the internet or some network resources. This problem occurred because the network did not assign a network address to the computer'

I am using the UTD with USB and I seem to have a good connection.

Another problem I have encountered is this... If I start my compueter with the modem on and I connect I get lousy connections speeds.
2kbs - 55kbs...

However if I restart my machine... turn the modem off and on... I connect fine with maginficent speeds.
400 - 800kbs

Any ideas would be grand...

AND MTU is the DEVIL

Right click properties on My network places,

right click properties on local area connection 2

Untick the option that says show me if i have limited or no connection

I have seen that error too. My son installed a bluetooth connection on his pc for GPRS via his cellphone. When I reboot my pc it tried to connect to the net using this connection :D . The problem was solved by unsharing this connection on his pc.

limited or no connectivity has nothing to do with your iburst connection at all. because you're using the ethernet option (aka LAN cable) windows (in their all knowing glory and power) decided that by default users with a broadband connection would have some sort of router to connect to said broadband connection. routers usually handle connections by automatically assigning IP addresses using DHCP. Because windows can't find a DHCP server to get an automatic ip address (and because you connected the LAN cable of the UTD to your lan port) it assume you have limited or no connectivity.

It doesn't matter at all and doesn't impact.

I have never fiddled around with my MTU settings and (now that northcliff seemed have been fixed) I have good speeds again.

As for your problem, not sure, I only hibernate my laptop, doesn't effect anything
