Firstly, your claim is doubtful based on speech and grammar similarities between the above mentioned posts and your posts in this thread. Secondly, why would you use someone else's account when they're free and barely take a minute to create?

Nothing wrong with the build Wesley posted. There's plenty of scope to expand on it as you can afford. Otherwise, a console might really be the best option.
Besides RAM, what would be the next thing to upgrade on it? Better processor?

An actual GPU would be the next upgrade I guess. The a6-6400k uses an 8470d which is...passable but basically inadequate for real gaming. The whole thing is going to be fairly anemic in real games anyway, so he'll probably want to stick to older PC games where he can max them out. That means Orange Box, WoW, etc.

Ok I am just wondering if it would be worth putting some more cash into an APU from the get go.
I probably need to upgrade my PC in the near future and will need to buy a new board, RAM and CPU. So the idea of buying an APU to upgrade my GPU (GeForce 550 Ti) at the same time as my CPU is appealing to me. But comparing these AMD APUs to my current GPU now, it seems like it would be more of a sidegrade then an upgrade.

If you intend to upgrade continuously, an APU would be a mistake because the CPU performance is lame.

An APU would be more of a downgrade as you are moving from DDR5 to DDR3. I just upgraded from a 550ti to a R7 260x and there is a major improvement on the R7 260x.

Both bad ideas if the OP isn't sure he'll have the cash to upgrade the CPU later. The chip requires a Z97 board by default and is limited to two threads, in a world where the climate is shifting more to multithreading in single and multiplayer games. Clock speed can only get you so far.
A discrete GPU would be the next logical step, with an overclock to 4.5GHz to improve the single-thread performance of the CPU. APUs are great up to a point for desktop use, but unless you're able to accept their inadequacies it's not a good fit for most gamers.
Particularly so when Kaveri is the better choice by far, but it's still so damned expensive locally.
A downgrade is right, your GTX550 Ti is still more powerful and doesn't have as low a TDP limit as an APU. In fact, your card is still good enough for many modern games at 1080p with low to medium settings, so a CPU+MOBO+RAM upgrade would benefit you more, particularly if you're still running Core 2 Quad-era hardware.
@NAG-Wesley - Watch the video attached to my post as it shows that the G3258 is capable of doing 1080p gaming on an H81 board which actually got an overclocking BIOS update for that chip specifically. Even at stock, it's adequate for gaming, if you browse the benchies on multiple sites. If the OP plans on doing mutlitasking between heavy 3D applications then 2 threads might not be enough and since he is on a tight budget, it's a great way to get gaming on the cheap and then upgrading later if needed.
H81 mobo + CPU + 4gb RAM will set the OP back R1600-R1800.

And then Intel will just disable overclocking for those chips on non-Z motherboards through microcode updates, just as they have done in the past with Sandy Bridge and Haswell launch chips. With the risk of being sent back to stock, the G3220 is a better and cheaper buy. If OP is certain he'll upgrade the chip later to a Core i5 or similar, only then opting for the G3258 makes sense because more people would want to pick one up second-hand, so it'll get sold quicker.
Your recommendations also leave out a PSU, HDD and a chassis.

I would seriously consider going second-hand if I was the OP. But, then there's not a lot of people on Carb that want to deal with kids this young. If anything goes wrong the parents will get involved...
