I'm sorry but the only problem there is with people playing on your servers with high ping is the fact that there are no servers in their country. I live in South Africa and even though it's one of the fastest growing gaming communities around, we have absolutely no servers, NOT EVEN IN AFRICA. It's crazy how many game developers ignore countries like mine just because "Oh it's in Africa, there will be no market there" when the sole reason people don't buy their game is because developers neglect us. I'm one of those people that still buys Rainbow Six Siege/H1Z1: KOTK/PUBG even though there are no servers nearby and there is still massive communities for these games in SA. We're not a country with poor gaming infrastructure, we have good internet and good PCs, yet we still have to deal with 200-300 ping when playing because we have to connect to the other side of the world's servers. I'm going to use CS:GO as an example (yes I know CS:GO has become quite a meme in R6S but nevertheless). Out of everyone I know who is a PC gamer, most of them play CS:GO. Valve has time and time again paid attention to us here in South Africa and we have rewarded them by giving them our time and money to play the game. They even recently improved the official datacenter in South Africa due to high load on them most of the time. Reference I fully understand that there are people who abuse their ping by rushing you wherever the hell you are for an easy kill. HOWEVER, those of us who actually play the game normally are abused ourselves by this ping. Example, today I was playing as Blitz and I got shot multiple times through my shield because the game had not registered that I had turned around in time to not be killed. Yet these bullets (even on the kill cam) went straight through my shield and killed me. It's a typical example of things that happen every day to a South African Rainbow Six player like me. So please, I understand your problem on those that abuse their ping, but not all of us do. We get an even worse side of the ping punishment which really doesn't help the game growth at all. All we South Africans want is for some game devs to actually care about us down here and we will more than gratefully give our money to you and tell everyone about the game. But for now, let's not beg for the option to lock your search to your region because there are some of us down here that won't be able to find a game for an hour. Ubisoft, please fix.

So seeing that tomorrow they will be launching Siege servers in South Africa for the test server, I thought it would be cool to start a thread for anyone wanting to discuss the experience. It could also be a thread for people looking for anyone to play with in their skill group. I think this...

Playing from Cape Town we seemed to be joining a server up in GP.
Our Jhb friend had about a ping of about 9ms and us in Cape Town around 20ms.
 
Started playing yesterday and looking for fellow players add me on Ember_Za.
