RE. TyTn or P990

Greetinz,

Need help deciding on a phone, I have read the reviews on the P990, where impressive about 6 months ago, but now I have read about the TyTn and confusion has given birth.:confused:
 
P990 looks like a cool little device but there are some issues with the software ..
The TyTN has some voice mail issues for now .. but these 2 devices are in two totally different classes ..
This my personal opinion whic is fact ... Windows Mobile 9is always going to be more powerful and more flexible than any other mobile device operating system .
The one thing i like on the 990 is business cards scanner which awesome.

At the end of the day Windows Mobile 5.0 would be your better bet ... it has more built in support than any other Operating System .. enabling you sync directly with your exchange server giving you Push e-mail .. and the ability to access any resource on you network just like you where sitting behind your PC in the office ... in terms of a Business tool anything running Windows Mobile is the way to go .... it just makes sense .. you use it everyday .. and for the Linux boys you will be pleased to know Linux can be ported to most devices as well.

TyTN sounds great but I have no idea when MTN or anyone else will have it :(
 
Okay back to question 2 ... when you connect to a new Wifi Connection you have general and Network key options ... here you Authentication levels ...Open or Shared authentication using WEP encryption ..
you also have WPA and or WPS -PSK authentication using TKIP data encryption

you have a couple of security options ... you can take it a step further and do MAC authentication on you router as well ...
 
I also thought Windows Mobile is the way to go, but a friend of mine bought the HP 6915 a month ago and now wants to drive over it with his car!

He says the PDA bit of the HP 6915 is really good, but the phone part really sucks. Also, the picture quality of pics taken with the HP is pathetic compared to the SonyEricsson.

Just my two cents....

Voda has the Tytn and the Meteor and the S310...
I like UIQ symbian over WM5 anytime!;)

Tytn is still better because of HSDPA.

Different device ... Remember that a PDA is a PDA first and a phone second ...
Sony's and Nokia have Phones with a camera bolted onto it ... if that is what you looking for then dont bother with a PDA/phone because the pic quality on most of them are okay .. but for me if you want a decent camera then buy one .. Just me ... or get a phone with one bolted onto it
But as a business tool nothing else comes close ...
I havent used trhe 6915 ... i still have a sour taste in my mouth from when I had the 6515 ...
To date i have owned and used about 20 different GSM enabled PDA's and there was a handfull that wasnt up to scratch .. for me at least ..
But it depends on what you want to use the device for .....

I have checked with VodaDirect and the TyTn will only be available around the 7th December 2006. Word is that MTN should release the phone in Jan 2007.

Yeah the phones very expensive!
but it should be R3k payin on upgrade, check the more reliable stores like Metro or Vshops.
