Hi guys

I saw in the forum some time ago a suggestion to speed up connectivity, insert a proxy in IE dsl-cache.saix.net. I am capped at the moment but still have local access only with the computers that DO NOT have the proxy

Take it off and the whole lot works, but when I'm not capped (roll on Monday!!!!) the proxy works just fine

Anyone?

Once you're capped you're on another network with a different gateway. I'm fairly sure that access to the proxy is not allowed...or you'd still have international bw..which kinda defeats the point of capping. I don't really think that specifying the proxy will have any real impact when you're not capped, 'cos you're going through a transparent proxy in any case.

edit: my advice...switch to firefox:D It won't help but it's good advice.

Thanks, I saw it made no difference anyway, appreciate the input

I'll leave them all without the proxy - pain to go do 9 machines but what the Heckom :D

Hi, Hi Speed Steve.

The proxy does not get you around the cap. At all. If you have so much cash as you insinuate, then get a bloody proper DSL account from axxess.co.za. It's cheap. Cheaper than the insure for the mags on your BMW.

ROFL good point. Found it odd that you mention your 7 series, don't know what that has to do with SAIX or your name as BM's are slow ;)
