Salary hikes may disappoint

Never said it was.
But SA, Eskom and things like this has an influence on my salary.
The world Cup has massaged our economy this year but next year we will see what is up when we are faced with all the debt.

Everyone I know in the UK and US is at present simply glad to have employment. Everyone that is still employed that is. Plenty are out of work.

Yes it is bad, but not as bad as made out. UK unemployment is 7.8% and the US is about 10%. Its bad because they are used to rates closer to 2% or 3%. I just shake my head at how they panic. They have no idea what high unemployment is. Which is probably a good thing, because they get really pissed at the gov. Main reason why Brown and Obama are taking so much flak.

I meant the debt we made for the WC. We will feel teh effect after the cup. When we know what is paid for and what is not.

Just to add on the car allowance thingy.
I beleive that SARS will charge 80% now and not 60%, and they are doin away with the 32000km rule (18 prv and 14 bus).
For someone like me that rule was cool, cos i did not do business mileage but could still claim it.
Now they require a logbook (although it will be a mess for auditing), but my company requires official mileage to be logged electronically (crap, so cant fudge it).

damn SARS, i owe them R12k, R6k is from car allowance ... another from pension which they under taxed few years ago
