Samsung 32inch C5000 - netflix?

Hi guys,

My aunt recently upgraded tv's and she gave me this old one

I've noticed a LAN port at the back.
So i thought,let me do a search and see if this tv can take Netflix and or Hulu.
Long story short,after hours of searching,i still dont know.

If anybody knows(had one,have one),could you perhaps point me in the right direction,unless it cant and i have wasted precious hours of my life when i could have been watching it on my PS3

Getting the TV connected to the internet is fine,but with the lack of "smarthub" for this specific model,I dont know if it can download the app/s
I was reading SamyGO
Which suggested running a rooted version of this tv,with special firmware permissons allowed for the use of their extentions,one of which includes a netflix app.This leads me to believe its not natively supported,or rather this series isnt supported by those applications by default

Im just wondering if its worth the effort of trying to get as much infoon this to see if what im trying to accomplish is even possible,let alone worth the effort when i do have other options available to me.
I was just thinking it would be cool to have a tv,and a tv only in a room,but can access streaming services as well.
Like a one standard remote setup for a single device if that makes sense

The firmware route is the only way to go. My bro just also got a new LG TV and he can't get Hulu or Netflix cos the region of the TV is set to SA (set by LG for all TVs that are sold in SA) and there is no way round it unless a firmware upgrade.

The C5000 doesn't have smarthub which is the platform on which Netflix or Hulu runs on a smart TV your alternative would be a HTPC, ATV or WDSP as well as many more. Google is your friend - just ask as it will tell you.

Would a device such as Chrome Cast help me achieve the desired effect? not really looking for extra remotes,but then again,if its utter crap then i suppose i'd look at "proper devices" as mentioned above

Chromecast works just fine.
Many ppl use it.

Easier to just watch on your ps3.
