Samsung Galaxy S22

So an update :)

Phone is now totally died, not even in the boot cycle anymore.

Ordered a S25 Ultra via takealot which will be delivered tomorrow so one more day without a phone , well technically I am using my old S8+, which is wow slow on another level I think its not the phones fault I think I been spoilt but using something newer than that.
Condolences. Hopefully it lasts longer lol.

Just saw the new update for "bug fixes and stability".. feels a little smoother/snappier since installing it, not that I had any serious issues before.

Also noticed that Wallet wasn't opening automatically on boot up at the bottom of the screen since the previous update, which seems fixed now.

Is it worth it getting the motherboard replaced?
what prices are we looking it?
Samsung recommended "technologiagroup" but they dont resopnd to emails.
maybe one of those gadget shops?
I assume if you have the part ,and you know what you are doing it shouldn't be too hard.
Bumping this allll the way back from August....
Anyone know?
I would really like to get the S22 ultra repaired.

The Galaxy S22 is celebrating its fourth anniversary this week, but if you’ve been rocking with Samsung’s 2022 flagships since launch, this milestone probably hasn’t been going well for you.

Following last month’s routine security patch for the S22 series, owners have started reporting some serious issues across Reddit, as collected by PiunikaWeb. Everything from bootloops to random launcher crashes and freezes are here, and as is usual for as widespread and havoc-creating a problem as this, solutions and workarounds seem to be sporadically successful at best. Basically, it seems like Galaxy S22 owners are on their own until an official patch from Samsung comes around. Considering the entire series is on a quarterly upgrade cycle, it’s going to take an unscheduled patch to fix this before May.

Haven't updated my S22U in ages. Too afraid to brick it. Mine is long out of warranty. Will probably only try next year after my upgrade.

XDA forums should have some roms for the S22.

why would you need those - the S22 ultra can still update to One UI8 and even to one UI8.5 when the stable version releases - only the S21 series has become too old to receive the latest updates and even the S21FE will get one UI8.5 because it was released 6 to 8 months after the S21 Ultra

the S22 and S23 series also only get 4 years of update support but from the S24 onward Samsung will give up to 7 years of update support (maybe might not support every single feature but generally will receive the updated operating system and related Google changes that the hardware is strong enough to support)
