I think hardware manufacturers should have a different "default security policy" for hardware devices that are going to be used by the general public in South Africa(the land of the incompetent fools!).

The whole class A IP space which clients from telkom, and I believe others too, jump onto - and wow! there is nothing like pwning routers with default usernames and passwords.

Kinda nice way to get "free internet"(among the other evil malicious things to do)
 
People with default router user/pass really aren't gonna learn until a hacker walks up to them and slaps them on the head with a sticker that contains all the details you wouldn't walk around with on a sticker on your head, which is just not gonna happen. You get the idea.
That said, "pwning" routers is illegal, very script kiddy like posting this.
