Scott's Shipping Services - FORMERLY UNDER "POSSIBLE LIQUIDATION"

Yes, but then he received another surprise trip for his follow-up birthday.

Should be back on comms after +- 6 weeks, just before his surprise anniversary fishing trip
I hope this does not mean I am only getting my order in 6 weeks! 😲

Has anybody managed to get hold of Scott recently? He is not responding to my emails for an update on my order. The phone number goes straight to voicemail.
Good luck. So far everything has arrived but taking a lot longer than you are expecting. Comms are on and off.

I'm in the same boat, ordered just before he got back from Zim. Don't get any feedback. Not a large item. Is this a one-man company?

Hi all, outstanding customers you have a mail.

@mods, this thread is going to explode with very angry, rightly so, customers, it is certainly a bannable offence but I request my account be left open for a set amount of time in order to respond.

Scott
For those who want to know. Scott's is being liquidated. There are no guarantees of any refunds for those with outstanding packages. It seems most likely that invoices have been going out for products, but the products were not purchased from suppliers. Quotes however were going out up until last week.

Here's the full mail I received.

Good Day

It is with deep regret that after consultation with relevant parties and due to the company being unable to meet debt obligations we are obligated to cease trading and begin the liquidation process.

This process unfortunately freezes all supplier contracts as is, as well as any assets the business may have. This includes all incoming and held stock as of 07/08/24.

As a result we will be unable to deliver to deliver outstanding orders.

All customers owed funds are being added to the creditor list but please note the liquidation process will take a considerable amount of time and there is no guarantee that monies will be available to refund.

I am extremely sorry to all affected customers to whom we have been unable to supply service to, this was not our intent but a combination of factors have come together making it impossible to continue operating.

Kind Regards

SSS Team

That's rough, when everyone started panicking most people were like "hey he went for a holiday, cut the guy some slack", he even responded after that and assured everyone it was going to be okay, things are not okay.

This is something that I would have thought you would see coming, and not take new orders up to the last minute that you knew you cannot deliver on, but hey maybe I don't know anything about business and how it works

He probably needed some cash for the fishing trip. Beer and bait. Although we were the stupid fish here

There was a hint of problems in this thread that made me wonder for weeks already... I can't find the posts but it was to do with the hosting. The hosting went down (affecting emails) because the credit card was maxed out. That indication was missed. Usually company credit cards are used to do specific purchases and are not normally maxed out.

Surely it was a dick move to keep taking orders even though you knew you were in a tight spot? Not cool.

That was the first thing that made me feel uneasy, he went on a surprise trip, but then all email comms stopped and his hosting was wonky, but then he came back and said everything was fine, it was just a lack of oversight, now that small detail is leading to a much bigger problem it seems
