Hi

I just got the SE W850i...

Can anyone tell me how i would know whether im getting 3g or normal gprs speeds?

Im on mtn..


are there specific settings for 3g or will the normal gprs seetings be fine...


also, do you have to manually select 3g or how does it work?

anything else kewl this phobe can do that i dont know about?

If my W900i is anything to compare with, it should be doing everything on its own. Mine is 3g and does it all by itself. If you are a contract user it should be automatically setup. your Sim should also say 3G at the back of it, otherwise it won't be. I'm MTN as well and mine just does what I tell it to do. But to check out the features of your phone, go to vodacom's home page where you can compare all phones! Hope this helps - I'm a normal user like yourself, no expert! But Sony Ericsson RULES

ok i still have my old sim ..like 6 months old..

it doesnt say 3g at the back..

i'll go in to my SP to find out bout changing the sim.

the phone was sent down bu the gods and it's pleasure ! flippin hell, just checked out the vodacom site - they don't have your fone on their, if they don't carry the stock - they take it off. so can't get specs on it now - but definetly ask you Sp

Go to settings - internet - mobile networks to activate 3G then the 3G icon will appear on the top left of yr screen.
