Sending SMS's via Vodacom4me

I use the Vodacom for me website for a certain amount marketing due to the free SMS's.

Using a number of elcheapo sim's I can send 20 free sms's per sim per day.

I have devided the numbers in lot's of 20 for easy sending.

Problems is that since MNP there are now errors in my data. Why can't the website tell me which one the dodgy number is ? Else I have to repeat the process 20 times to find the culprit.


Error:

Your SMS cannot be sent to the number you have inputted due to one of the following reasons:

* 1. The number is for a voice service.

* 2. The number was in an invalid format.

* 3. SMSs from vodacom4me cannot be sent to numbers for value-added services, such as SMS games or SMS voting.

* 4. SMSs from vodacom4me cannot be sent to landline numbers.

* 5. SMSs from vodacom4me can only be sent to Vodacom customers.

Not spamming, sending to my opt-in client list. Besides 0c per sms is cheaper than 27c.

What else am I to do with a pile of R1.99 sim cards ?

LOL , nope I have an aversion to Nigerian drug dealers & well honestly an aversion to Nigerians in general - considering that Nigeria & Hillbrow are the 419 scammer capitals of this planet...

You have quite correctly recognised that the error(s) is(are) in your data, and that you will have to expend some effort to find such errors .

If you have a genuine "opt-in" list, then ask them. And in future have a little box for them to tick which states their current network.

If you're just random spammin', then I say YAY MNP, go, go, go!! Give those Nigerians a kick in the butt.

I was just thinking aloud that if the Vodacom4Me website has the ability to spot that a number is no longer valid for the Vodacom Network, that it might be able to also tell me which number it has a problem with.

Finding the offending number is rarely done in less than 8 steps manually, but sometimes I get lucky.

I have a client written opt-in list and I have added the names of a few people I don't like ;-)
