Disclaimer: Although I've heard it from a reliable source (with a family connection at Sentech) the following is an unconfirmed rumour based on hearsay.
[:0]Apparently Sentech is in financial difficulty with only enough money left to pay salaries for the next three months. Apparently no bonusses have been paid at all and several staff members have had to re-apply for their positions. From what I've heard there is a lot of dissatisfaction among employees with top management (regarding business decisions, spending etc.)
[?]Anybody able to confirm or deny this? Hearing this left me wondering about the future of MyWireless. My first reaction was that surely a "big" company like Sentech cannot be in financial difficulty? Perhaps it is just certain divisions / departments? Then again... this is South Africa... anything is possible.
[8)]With a large enough user base MyWireless can certainly be a very profitable product / service (once the capital-layout/infrastructure is in place). "What if" scenarios left me hoping that should the worse case scenario realize... hopefully some other Service Provider (Mobile Phone / ISP) will take over and continue with the service. For us end-users, obviously there will be a lot of legal issues / questions regarding the 24-month contract etc. Alas, time will tell.
