I treat Sentech as my connection provider. I then pay R120 per month to WebAfrica, and that gives me my own domain name, my own mailboxes, 100MB of web space, etc. I thus send and receive mail from my own domain name, from a server hosted in the US. I don't have to rely on Sentech SMTP or POP servers.

Incoming Spam Scanning : 16 September 2005

Please note that we are going to enable scanning of incoming spam on our mail platform tomorrow Friday 16 September 2005.

A "Spam" folder will start appearing under your mail Inbox as a repository for suspected spam. You will be required to manage this folder as you do with your normal Inbox folder. Email in this folder will contribute to your total quota and will thus require regular checking.



In case you dont know, well I didnt - you access this spam folder from http://mail.sentechsa.com

International Connectivity Failure: 27 April 2006

We're currently experiencing a failure resulting in the loss of international connectivity. All international services are unavailable. Our technicians will resolve the problem as soon as possible.

Scheduled Maintenance - Internet Access: 07 and 08 June 2006

Maintenance will be performed on the Sentech network on 07 and 08 June 2006 from 00:01 to 03:00. All local and international internet access services for all customers will be affected.

MyWireless - PTA Failure: 06 October 2006

We're currently experiencing a failure on the PTA MyWireless network. Some MyWireless customers are unable to connect. Our technicians are busy resolving this failure.

Aah but maybe Claymore (probably not even using the service anymore) will happen to check out DxL's offering which is most likely R50 for the same thing etc.
