Sentech in Cape Town

Hi,

Has anyone received their modem yet in the Cape Town region? I'm near Tygervalley but situated quite high, so I'd love to give my signal a test before just discarding sentech; as their promises of being up and running by end 2003 is as true as Bellville going to have a wireless connection any time soon.

I just wonder who did the surveys and decided WHERE these towers should go... Durbanville/Tygervalley/Bellville is the CBD of the whole area with more businesses and potential clients than all of the other towers in cape town that's already running. Why not start here?

So, if anyone near me has a connection up, I'd like to hear from you, and maybe I could borrow the modem for half an hour to check my signal.

I would also like to know what the situation is concerning Durbanville/Vygeboom.

Sentech, you guys can come put up a tower in my backyard if you are having problems getting permission from other turds. Just as long as I get to use your 512k option for free

Yup, solar has a point. there is more starting up business in tygervally around tygervally centre than anywhere else in the western cape. and a relativaly high income residential area.
