Bad news about Siri AI upgrade

Apple’s turmoil in its AI division reached new heights on Friday, with the company delaying promised updates to the Siri digital assistant for the foreseeable future.

Apple said that features introduced last June, including Siri’s ability to tap into a user’s personal information to answer queries and have more precise control over apps, will now be released sometime in “the coming year.”

Phpne 17 or iPhone 18. That person may have delayed their upgrade cycle specifically AI

I'd hate to have purchased a Galaxy S25 Ultra for the Galaxy AI features only to have to pay for it 1 January 2026.

At least they have the feature, if they pay for it or not.

Didn’t they advertise that upfront though? Even before a single pre-order was accepted?

Since the S24 over a year ago, which had fully working AI on release. Plus AI features rolled out to older phones in that year following.
So they've had AI for 2 generations already and some features for older phones.
 
Sucks to be an Applie girlie that upgrades their phone every year. More so with the iPhone 16 series, since the main selling point was not ready then, and still isn't finished now.

People will still line up and buy the latest iPhone 17 series smartphones. I know some people upgrade their iPhone every year. If people could cry about the price of eggs, but have $500+ USD for a mediocre seat at Beyonce's Cowboy Carter tour, the people definitely have $1000+ USD for the same iPhone with incomplete features.
