Everyone might not know this, when you buy Skype credit you have 6 months in which to use it, if you dont use it you will loose it. However in order to keep it all you need to do is make a 5sec phonecall which will extend it. Alot of people say buy 10 EUROS of calls and then forget about it. Does anyone in SA use SKYPE to phone other people within SA or is it still cheaper to use the Telkom landline.

Skype calls within South Africa are cheaper - in one situation:
National (long distance) calls during peak time are cheaper. Skype is at a flat rate of just over 50c per min and national peak time calls work out at just over 80c per min.
I think peak calls to cells were also marginally cheaper - R1,7x as aposed to R1,8x
However - if you have free minutes or a business package with cheaper rates then this is not the case.

we found out the VoipBuster's quality is better then Skype when you call SA local, and the rates have little bit differences
