So tell me must I drop the TELKOM ADSL and go for Sentechs my wireless? I don't mind the extra cash if I'm going to gets a service that equals or betters my current ADSL line. I'm just worried about the quality of the service once everyone jumps on the bandwagon. Another worry is what kind of speed we getting online once we go over the water ?
 
Payback this service isn't availible yet so we can't comment weather it's good or bad I can tell you now it looks very good on paper though I want some more factual data on pings etc but in practise we will only know when it's launched Jan 19th:)

Release date is the 19th, a week from today. I'm sure the early adopters will post tons of information next week [:)]

ok.. i'm sure ppl been waiting for me to respond but i've had many problems.. ironically my isdn lines' cables got stolen the day after mywireless went down for tower maintenance.. but i'm here.. on my 26.6k connection which is *** slow and would just like to say once you've tried you cant go back ;/ its nothing like installing adsl, its actually 100x easier.. none of those stupid flash thingies lagging ur pc and multiple setups. All u do is pop cd in click,click,click. Plug modem in and u done. As far as i can see your ip is dynamic and doesn't disconnect unless you lose signal to 0 or your pc resets.. lightning storms didn't affect my connection 1 bit.. I was actually quite pleased to see that everything remained stable and that you could actually play online without the worry of getting struck or losing a protector.. I've been using the USB modem and you put the modem in the cradle and plug in the power and after a few hours of sitting the recharable battery within the modem starts to fill.. and you can actually unplug the power and use the usb modem in your laptop in the car for a few hours without needing external power.. I haven't tested the exact length that the battery lasts but im sure u can ask the support centre.. o yes the support centre.. 24/7 yay knowledge 50/50 maybe thats because its new and they still learning but everything you need thats techinally advanced needs to go to the 2nd level.. avalaiblity.. from what ive heard on the 19th or even a day or 2 before a map'll be placed on the website for all to view of the coverage and that'll give you a good idea of where the towers are, how close you are to them and if u get coverage... the other day i drove in the car from craighall to northcliff and had signal all the way there so i'm sure most people in the suburbs of jhb'll be covered.. all those people concerned about the bandwidth.. why are you worrying so much? theres 200 testers and only a few towers active for us and ive experienced excellent download speeds locally and internationally...
 
Just noting that you don't have to any of the useless !@#$ software / etc. that SAIX give you when setting up your ADSL. As for the rest, the only REAL way to see how the service will perform is to wait and see. Most of what I have heard and seen so far is promising, but the real acid test comes in the next month or so...
