ic actually part of thier bandwith throttling solution (you must all realise we are throttled to 1mbit when we're "unthottled" and throttled to 64k later) when you start connections and you're fresh on the network they will give you loads of bandwith, you can go to 200KB/s even if you hit it at the right time, then slowly it will start to shut that door and create a sturdy bottleneck at 1mbit (or 64k if you're capped). Its not that thier system is broken, its that it is dynamic, for instance on my adsl I am disconnected before I am capped, they check the usage once a day and cap accordingly, with wbs i DO NOT have to disconnect to get capped, or to get uncapped when I buy more bandwith.
I like the dynamic system personally, its more sophisticated and took a while to settle down but now I think its perfect. Plus now I know the modem is capable of at least 4mbit, so if Telkom keep screwing up WBS can just try steal thier market share and offer a few more mbit/s to make up for the unreliability
