Speedlites into 60x60 softboxes?

It seems that a lot of the entry level DSLRs can only do 1/200s max sync.
Evidently the solution/work around is "High Speed Sync" but is this a setting on the flash or the camera or both?
How do you do high speed sync with studio lights?

I think you'll need triggers that can handle HSS. But why would you need HSS in a studio?

Tell us what you want to do and then we can give you some ideas on how to get there. Either I am missing some bit of information you have told us or you missing a step somewhere.

Lets start simple, my poor brain hates complicated problems ( even simple ones that look complicated ).

Portable studio lights for outdoor work (fill flash against sunlight) instead of using Speedlites.
Seems that Pocket Wizards can do HSS.

Why not buy that reflector I mentioned earlier?

That's an option.
I'm just trying to weigh the cons and pros of going Speedlite vs studio strobe as both avenues require some investment.
The Speedlite route is highly portable which is a major selling point.
