Steam purchase during Lockdown?

I get that. I was asking if you could download it via console if there is no button. Otherwise, say thank you for yet another ANC success story. lol.

So... no titles will be rated whilst the FPB is in lockdown and they are back in operation.

0) properly close steam
1) disable steam guard
2) vpn to a country that can
3) run game

It's also the method to early play before your normal unlock
 
Just Pirate the bloody thing. FFS its download, Extract and run. The emulator is built in. and then you take a screenshot of running it and mail it to Steam and the developer.

But as you say it is a nice 'things to come' if the fpb decides to just **** us. Sigh, I suppose another reason to go to other launchers :sneaky:

I wanted to do the region change with Steam to test it, but I have been suspended once and not going through that again. Steam also had an issue with me sharing my account with a Canadian account. I have experience with this.

I wasn't planning on playing the game now in any case. I like the bugs to be ironed out as much as possible. All which alluded to me is that Steam will adhere by the FPB, they can suspend your licencing when they are instructed to do so, and yes, this hasn't been rated, but the same principle applies.

GOG FTW, even Epic wouldn't give a toss since they don't trade here.

EDIT:

I say Steam, but this is actually the publisher who needs to cert their publication who have a relationship with Steam who trades in SA. 2K will have to do this with all their distribution channels which are applicable here, as with all publishers who sells here in one way or the other.

Well, it should be easy then if that's the case:

1) Use a VPN and create a new US based Steam account.
2) Log into new Steam account
3) Enable family sharing on the US account with your SA account and vice versa on your SA account
4) Play the game via the US account
5) Profit

this game is region restricted. Back when account sharing came out it would quit the game when region restrictions were detected as bypassed. Do it multiple times and it would suspend your Steam account. Today they block it.

My bad, didn't realize things changed that much. End of last year they also added additional checks for purchasing with a credit card from different regions. I bought lots of games on my Russian Steam account to family share with my SA account with my credit card. Trying to do the same today, it won't allow me. The only way to perhaps bypass it is by means of using a Russian Paypal account.

But not to go off topic too much, Steam has clamped down on these things in recent times :confused:

You can still change your region, but it activates a regional cooldown period. Do it too many times and they lock you to the region you are in until you give them evidence that you travelled.

I believe Steam have become more strict to control the botting going on in their ecosystem.

I am not annoyed that I cannot play this game now I am annoyed that the FPB can intervene in my digital rights agreement.
 
I also first saw the regional lock on XCOM, but then on Sat I could both buy and download it (I didn't change anything on my side).

I also launched it fine yesterday and was able to play.
