Still don't understand

Also found that Media Player is responsible for 'usage you don't realize'. It searches and collects content and information on your music. Say your collection is made up of 200 albums, information on each album and each track is collected from amazon or wherever. Not a major culprit, but one of them in any case.
One of the many reasons I hate Microsoft. They automatically assume you don't want privacy. Also a major culprit is Windoze update which is on by default. Anti-piracy? Does Firefox have an option to auto-check for updates that you can disable? Also found with Adobe Acrobat. Time sync can also be responsible for some k's.

Many other apps i don't even know about.

My experience with Fx2, is that Fx2 automatically checks for updates to installed extensions [add-ons], there probably is an option to disable this, open a new tab, in the address bar of the new tab, type the following and hit enter:
Code:
about:config
then type the word update in the Filter field, there are too many update possibilities listed there, but one of them must be an option to disable checking for extension updates when Fx2 is started up...

Firefox has an auto update function, yes, and it's disabled. I think most if not all mainstream apps will have the function. Not only acrobat, but all adobe products have the built in (and enabled by default) auto-update bits. I have gone through every piece of software on the machine, and disabled them all.

ic, it's a lot simpler than that. Tools > Options > Advanced icon > Updates Tab.
