Stop complaining and get real...

I signed around 6-7th of April, and I mistakenly said that everything was working for me between 8th and 11th of April, which is wrong, it was working between 15th and 18th of April.

Kei - your willingness to help everyone here says a lot about your character - thanks again man for your help!!
Maybe iburst should employ u - he he he

SA internet story is exactly the same as our "double priced" (I mean to america) motor vehicles. It is a crime whats happening but nobody doing anything to help with it.

still, my opinion is: If u don't complain, then nobody will finally notice where the problem is. And my future kidz might just as well stuck in the same sh*t*y internet services as i am. And they are going to pay the price for a i318 in america to buy a tazz in south africa. Our complaints can only help our future to grow better. No matter it is 10 pages well phrased or simply a swearing.

Anybody saying adsl, iburst or sentec in south africa is good is just helping those big firms to cheat their customers. They are all craps, over making money for the firms, so as people must be aware of it.

I am still using iburst because it is currently the easiest faster internet to let my company covering it ( it is under my companys name ). I also have adsl installed in my warehouse. I do need internets for my business and my personal life, even if they cost ridiculously. But i will say with my true heart: they all suck. and if u think they are cool, u suck!

SwordFish - I connect to northcliff tower (from home) and have had speed, timeout and disconnection errors since I signed up.

But I have found one place where the UTD is put at a certain height with the arial pointing in a particular direction and this solved all of the above issues. If I move it 1cm all falls to crap.

I haven't been worried about timeouts but I have been running a ping -t to iburst server to monitor my pings. This used to sort out and maybe still does sort out the timeout and disconnection issues. Check that your pings are resonable (when idle) <200 always and average about 100.

i know someone who has the same issue with sentech. the modem can only be in one place or else it loses the connection. do you put markings where the modem must stand? cuz i can imagine the maid (if you have) gets regurlar rnating from you when she dusts. :D

No I got an old piggy box thingy and a cellphone box and another box i made and they are stacked on my windows sill at the sweet spot such that the UTD can balance somehow inbetween them and the arial must be aligned to touch the window from this distance to form the right angle. ****ing sucks when ppl close my curtain coz the f**** thing falls and I have to start again adjusting it mm by mm.

In light of this thread I actually moved my modem and I have the same experience. I move my modem 1cm.. I mean 1cm is NOTHING and I go from great speed down to 3kbyte/sec speed, 3 signal LED's and MSN messenger and IRC die completely! I've marked it's pattern so that when the maid cleans I can reset it.

As for me working for WBS I seriously doubt WBS will be able to offer me what I currently earn as a design engineer. I must admit though that telecommunications is my forte and it is what I studied and qualified with and admittedly it would be rather nice to work on public networks again but I would feel **** scared working there not knowing what the future held. Also I think I'd never see my family!

However, I am glad to help out the MyBroadband.co.za community if I am able to :-D

this must be a new yoga technique specifically tailored made for iburst users like the user who made the tinfoil hat that picked up 5fm instead of iburst... in stereo too...

by string i suggest you hang your iburst modem because currently is seeks support from the base where support from the top it seeks.

so when curtains are drawn, or opened, it shall fall no more.

But rotate and move back to foward it will
as wind she blows.

Doesn't matter its back at work now with a nicely mounted arial attached
