Johannesburg - A man was killed after being knocked down by a car while trying to get across the N1 near the Rivonia off-ramp following a smash-and-grab incident, said Johannesburg Metro police.

...and then when teh guy got to the accident scene the laptop had gone. Sheesh, SAfricans are opportunists.
