Because when you're young you're usually stupid and have more time to waste. Heck look at Chaos PC's ads in the local rag for example,
"We're Reformatting." I mean how pathetic is that? Only on a PC,
eh, where Windoze gets so bloated after about 6 months of usage, you
have to format it's patition and reinstall the bug ridden thing.
Using a PC shouldn't be about learning about formatting, malware, viruses,
BSOD's and application crashes. It should be about productivity and enjoyment.
All other PC usage should be transparent. MACs are a lot like this, Windoze
systems, not at all. Hence Chaos PC guys advertise themselves
as reformatting. Heck today I was in Computer Mania in Canal Walk,
haha, at least 2 of their display PCs couldn't boot with some sort
of BAD PARTITION/BAD SECTOR error in text mode. It just part
of being a PC owner I guess.
A MAC
just works, this coming from someone who started using a Win3.1 386 in 1991,
internet in early 1994 and has been using Windoze until this year when
I started using a Mac Pro.
Let me qualify this further, if using a PC works for you, great. For me PCs work
ok for internet/games/email/Word (they do crash often though), but for video editing PCs
just suck (using professional hardware and apps). Mac is just better for the PRO
stuff I think. Working in Adobe Premiere Pro in Windoze is just like pulling your hair out,
Final Cut on MacOsX just works
