TBC - Who's going to Northgate?

I'm picking up my copy of TBC from Northgate tonight - woohoo!!

Anyone else going there? And if so, are you a large person? I want know in case I have to beat up someone to get a copy :D

Apparently there was a big fight in Germany because they ran out. The police had to be called in.

I can just imagine a whole bunch of gaming nerds fighting for a box! Luckily I'm not so much with the nerdiness, weighing in at 120kgs. So bring it on!! LOL.

I can't wait! For the game... not be punched out! :)

Ha! I weigh almost twice as much! :P Hehehe, I'm sure they would have let people know by now if they didn't, otherwise they'd have a riot on their hands.
 
I just phoned them. If you pre-ordered they will keep yr copy.

They spun me some story about the release date being 18 Jan for the last 2 weeks and they suprised I didnt get a notification. I could sworn the website said 15 Jan last week Thurs or Friday. Also when my wife went to the store on Friday, they said midnight the 15th.

Ah well, we are at the arse end of the planet, so it shouldnt be a surprise.

Yeah sucks had the same problem, they said copies stuck in UK and seemed pretty pissed about it but nothing they could have done :( They were supposed to have party on 14th (Along with rest of world)

I only got my pre-order receipt confirm late today for some odd reason, but hope that qualifies for my copy tonight (Even though 2 weeks old Preorder)

I got the email about the delay last week sometime, not two weeks ago, for sure.

Should be fine. If you've ordered and paid before end of business today, you've got it made. I'm just not sure how they're gonna know that you've paid? So I'm taking my order confirmations etc with me.

Got my friend in the UK to pre-order it and upload it to his server which I then downloaded so I am busy playing TBC as we speak

So, got it last night. Had a great time there as well. Heard some interesting stories and met some really funny people.

And, I went to bed at 01:30 this morning... argh. I'm so tired! LOL.
 
lucky you!!! i just drove all the way to northgate from rosebank to fetch it and what happens ... o oops we don't have enough we'll definitley have tomorrow ... i mean wtf?!?!?!?!?!? i paid IN FULL on the 8th Jan.

the same story all over again ... help ?!?!?!?!!??!

I went to the midnight release at Budget Technologies/btgames/co.za last night and discovered that they actually had no stock of the collector's edition.


hahahahahha get this.... and they say they are the sole-distributors for the CE!

What a bunch of wallies.


All the other distributors are "sold-out" so maybe what they say is true.

it begs the questions though, How the fk do they do their ordering? surely they order product a and product b and then pay for it. Then track product a and b separately? So they should then initiate legal action against their suppliers for the loss of sales. If they weren't ordering properly or didn't track it properly with their supplier then they are stupid.

So no matter what their excuse, they are left with pie on their faces and we suffer...

I am one of the people affected. It is totally unacceptable - you are exactly right about the logistics. I completely believe that all pre-orders up to a few days before the launch absolutely HAVE to be catered for, as they should have made sure of how many they were able to get from suppliers and promised no more.

The initial response from the branch of BT where I requested mine be delivered was simply "There is nothing they can do except give me the standard edition"

I don't want the Standard edition as I know 3 weeks later they will receive stock of the collectors edition and I will be forced to purchase it if I want the extras.

I believe they should be forced to provide us with collectors edition keys until the packages arrive!

Maybe if u had listened they said MID short supplied them. 500 copies were meant to be delivered exclusively for BTGames however they only received 250. The other copies were held back in Europe because the Europeans had run out of stock. BTGames was apparently guaranteed the copies and at the last minute, 9PM 17/01/07 were let down BADLY. (This can be confirmed by a number of sources including MID themselves!) Its unfortunate but what can you do. Ask for a refund or buy the normal version, i mean - its the game, play it!
