Telkom 5102g firmware issue

I have a 5102g ADSL wireless router and having problems upgrading the firmware. Recently I downloaded and installed an old piece of firmware by accident ;p and since installing that.. well it's just not been good.

The problem is that when I login to the router I only get the options STATUS/DEVICE info. Nothing else is accessible, I cannot change or configure anything and there isn't even an option to upgrade the firmare :( which I know will fix it.

Now perhaps there is another way to login to the router other than through a web browser? Can I update the firmare through telnet or some other method?

Any help greatly appreciated, this is a crisis lol
 
Your router is broke, stukkend, will not work anymore....

JUST JOKING.... :D :D

Press the reset button at the back of the router. +- 6sec
This will revert your router back to factory defaults again.
Enter username and password you're good to go. :D
 
For all the people reading this thread:

Remember to do a factory reset after you have upgraded the F/W on the 5102G!!!!
Otherwise you will have only a device info screen desplaying on the router.
 
thanks that has fixed the problem

It's now back to normal. Although, now it's gone back to the smaller problem I had before the upgrade. There is no Wireless option in my interface setup. (just Internet & LAN) It's as if it thinks my router isn't wireless. Anyone encountered something like this b4?

What F/W version did you upgrade the router with?

Cause that is one of the first indication of wrong F/W upload. Like the 5102 without the wireless.
 
Firmware version is 2.7.0.29(ZUE0.B1)3.3.2.5

Thing is, the problem was happening a couple of days before the firmware upgrade.

How long did you have the router for?

If that is the case then most probably the wireless card has gone poef....
Just take it back to a Telkom shop and they will give you another one.
Tell them that the wireless is dead.
 
Had the router around 1 year. Yeah, I just phoned them up and they also say it needs taking in, thx 4 help.

Where did u find the firmware? The only firmware i found was on the Billion website and it was 27023_ZUE0B13325 (which is older than yours)
 
I have the firmware (2.7.0.29) as well, it's available directly from billion SA although they don't support it and this firmware is not published on the internet, the latest is 2.7.0.23 (annex A)

If you can't get it there PM me and I get it too you...

Can someone please send me the default firmware for the modem ASAP!! I have lost my wireless settings after I tried upgrading the firmware..
