Just thought I would highlight a couple of things on the Telkom site,because its a laugh:
1:"Telkom is Africa's leading integrated communication operator. We provide high quality services to an entire range of customers"......
This is on the front page when you enter the site,what I found funny about this was that they say "Africa's leading integrated communication operator" when in actuality they are the Only(monopoly) Intergrated communication operator....wanna go to the toilet,you got to ask telkom first.
2:Skip to the ADSL product advertisements,386 is refferred to as the "SUPREME" package and 512 the "PREMIUM"........
Well we all know that 386 should be referred to as the service which is basically a sized down not really dsl product created to make more money by offering more variations(ie:192 the third divisory).Then we have 512 which can be refferred to as the almost or just broadband product......all still shaped obvioulsy(GRRR)
3:On their page about the SAT3/WASC/SAFE highway they say:
"This project will help bridge the digital divide between Africa and the developed nations and all the role-players will enjoy the access to knowledge brought about by the information revolution that has already had such a dramatic impact in the West, Europe, and the Far East.It will bring the people of Africa the fast, efficient and affordable communications they need for sustained development and progress."........
Funny how we constantly read about African countries being forced to start wifi operations and such because Telkom cant share
4:In the FAQs the reason for capping,which will be remembered by many for a long time to come:"Why is there a 3GByte monthly volume cap?................
The 3 GByte monthly volume cap was part of the Internet product that the South African Internet eXchange provided to IP's and ISP's since the launch of DSL in South Africa . Subsequently SAIX have launched Interent powered by DSL services with various caps. The rationale for the volume caps is to protect the total DSL subscriber base by providing a reasonable service to all subscribers. Power users who continuously download huge amounts of data can negatively impact on the rest of the DSL subscriber base who only make use of their DSL service for normal Internet access purposes, meaning that other users can experience very slow bandwidth throughput speeds. The volume caps helps to equally distribute the bandwidth available to the total DSL subscriber base."

5:The slogan or what ever at the top of the page Telkom-Touch tomorow....... YEH if you're not capped......
6:At the bottom of the page it stated "Proudly South African"...too which I reply:
We all know you are ripping us..........
