Telkom prepaid LTE

Question: can I connect through a VPN with Telkom LTE?

Yes, I've just double-checked on an Android phone using the "VPN Free" app., through Germany.
Can provide screenshots if you like, but I can't prove it was Telkom as it was via wi-fi so the SIM's in the router.

In the relatively recent past (maybe 4 - 6 months ago ?), I used Proton VPN on a Linux-based laptop with the Telkom 100 GB night data bundle without issue/s.

EDIT : if using the free VPNs, you sometimes won't get the country you choose, so check up on https://www.whatismyip.com/ after connecting to a VPN, to see which country you're really based in.

Just linking to post I made about Telkom LTE prepaid pricing vs old & newly revised Afrihost / Telkom LTE prices (in the wrong thread, because it relates to contracts), and the fact that Telkom haven't revised their own prepaid pricing in at least a year (from what I can tell) :

Having now decided to stay with Axxess / Telkom LTE, will probably just get a 5+5 Cell C as minor backup + sending at most 1GB data to 2nd smartphone SIM every month

On further reflection, regard Telkom prepaid direct still to be the better option (if you buy enough the 1st time around) as you only need to purchase data once every 2 months.
Now canx. Axxess' Telkom option again, for 3rd time this month, effective end Nov. '21.

The Telkom pricing is cheaper than the MTN pricing. Doesn't have the location and device lock which is even better I reckon.

Posting these after testing again, between the various spectrums (earlier this a.m.)

SIM supplied by Axxess, but it's just the same as using a directly supplied Telkom prepaid one.

Network holding up very well, after scheduled power outage last night until midnight ; I recall last time we had them, speeds were way down (but not only on Telkom, also Cell C / MTN).
