This comes off the Telkom website (http://www.telkom.co.za/company/vision.jsp)

Telkom's vision
Our vision is to be a world-class communications company.
We are a communications company, that offers total communication solutions to our customers - No you are not. You are a monopoly offering the services you want to customers.
We will be world-class when our customers say we are. Ha Ha. Methinks not many would say so..
We are more than just a "phone company" Yeah but you act like one.
Our area of business includes a full spectrum of digital communications, including voice, data, video, and latest Internet and E-Commerce enabling technologies. Mommy (the govt) I want my cake. ALL of it. While were about it give me yours too. I dont like sharing.

Telkom's value system This is the real joke!

To move toward our vision, we embrace the following six values:

We value our people and their diversity Mabey
We are performance-driven Yeah directors need big houses and fancy cars
We are customer-focused What a joke!
We create value for our shareholders And more importantly our directors
We are a model corporate citizen Please...do me a favour
We act with integrity in everything we do Yeah right...

"The Great Deregulation War has begun!"

Where is the world going to?

These people are not even ashamed to put such rubbish in their mission statement.

Makes me think of an old joke. Remember Telkom was once part of the Post Office.

You can take Telkom out of the Post Office but you can't take the Post Office out of Telkom.

Don't forget that Telkom is also a "Proudly South African" company. Ask them what happened to the local telecommunications industry!

If Telkom is an image of "Proudly South African", I'll run from any company claiming to be so!

"Proudly South African" surely has some quality control procedures before they accept new member. If Telkom could pass that test (in general - not only ADSL), I'm afraid I rather won't risk dealing with others boasting "Proudly South African"

Telkom has about as much vision as a facecloth, send the statement it off to jokes.co.za

Just imagine where SA would be now if it weren't for Telkom

Their slogan on www.telkom.co.za is "Touch Tomorrow".

They are not event in touch the present let alone the future.
