Terrible Lag with Skype Out

Hi all does anyone else experience a terrbile lag/jerkiness with their skype out as of late? every call I've made recently via skype out turns out to be broken up garbage received from the other party, I've tried phoning landlines overseas as well as cellphone lines and cellphone lines here but all my calls are jerky/broken up

Is this an issue with iburst? or skype is growing too fast without the necessary infrastructure...

i suppose it's the normal story of IBURST being a bunch of loosers shaping SKYPE traffic now that they have launched there own voip service.......

Hmmm... I use skype pretty regularly and it works fine for me. Occasionally I have an issue thanks to Skype hanging my laptop, and I know people blame iBurst for a lot, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt on this one.

Skype works well - iBurst network CTN NOT!

I use Skype daily (as total replacement for landline & mobile - cost saving) and have had very little issues, however iBurst intermittently experienced high packet loss and various other network issues in the Cape Town region over the past two weeks.

Hopefully they will sort it out shortly...

Well that is just the problem... Skype seems fine with normal PC-PC calls but when I try with Skype Out I get a very broken up conversation with the oppsite party even though they hear me fine.

Wen you are on a call check your packet loss for incomming and outgoing... (by hovering your mouse over the dialled nr)

What is the signal strenght of your connection in dB?

My skype recently has been shockingly bad with it being almost unhearable.

Change your Skype version...

I seldom have issues with Skype - network congestion does affect the sound quality though...

Skype Version 2.5.0.151 works best, after the hotfixes are installed, later versions deliver poor sound quality on my machines and there seem to be some driver integration issues with various USB phone devices (Skype approved).

Note: You do not have to uninstall any previous versions when upgrading or downgrading to other versions of Skype and your settings and contact list won't be affected.

Use port 42652 or > and do not enable port 80 or 443!

Under the Update options section, disable major releases and enable hotfixes.
