The trouble still is that the SA President cannot divorce that what is good for the subcontinent and misplaced feelings of emotional loyalty. Admitting another African leader is wrong is no shame, it is valor. Just like in the Western world criticism of a fellow leader is expected and insisted on when there are wrong things going on.

This is what is scary in African politics – huge majorities and relatively weak or suppressed opposition. The Government can never be healthy in such a condition. The pre 1994 Government had the same problem and look where it ended. History is repeating itself al over again.
 
My point is that Zimbabwe is made up of innocent people - not just RM and co.

The presidency made it clear this week that it believe Zim's problems are economic in cause and political in symptom. As long as this is the case, then there will be no active engagment from our side IMO.
 
oh... so the world fell apart around zim so the politics went sour...
i think the order was different if i remember correctly...

or at least if it was a bunch of impoverished peasants who went on the rampage, they certainly did it to the beat of Bobs drum.

The farms suddenly became unproductive overnight.

The fact that the farmers were replaced by unproductive 20 year old [-]loyalists[/-] war veterans had nothing to do with it ;)

Thabo should use more than just writing to help solve Zims issues.... come on thabo some action might help...... What is the problem with you and mugabe?
