I have picked up an irritating glitch on my S4. Phone is connected to my Bluetooth in my car and can make and receive calls but during calls the bluetooth will disconnect every 15 seconds for 1 second and the radio/mp3 music comes back on and then the bluetooth reconnects and the call continues.

The guys over at Android Central are squeeling about this too and it is driving me insane and has made my bluetooth in my car unusable!!! http://forums.androidcentral.com/t-...ly-bean-update-bluetooth-calling-issue-6.html

Anyone else suffering from this??

Seen a few reports from Android 4.1 users as well but it's plenty times worse on 4.2 it seems.....

Ok so this was a issue on my Galaxy Nexus on 4.2.1 after the update (4.2.2) my phone was working fine. You should get the update soon hopefully.

I am on 4.2.2 with my Galaxy Nexus ... and my bluetooth is still fooked. It connects to the car kit - then a second or so later disconnects. I am waiting for 4.3 with bated breath .. but it doesn't fix it - back to 4.1 I go :( *Sob*

My S4 came out with 4.2.2 so as Digilus said, lets hope google fix this in the 4.3 release. They have at least acknowledged the issue exists

OK... so after much reading I noticed in one post on AndroidCentral that someone mentioned changing a display timeout.......

It suddenly hit me that the display timeout set on my phone was similiar to the frequency of the bluetooth disconnects. I just changed my timeout to 5 minutes (I always lock my phone before pocketing so should not drain battery) and tested the bluetooth in my Peugeot 3008 with a call to voicemail.... I got pat the first minute without any disconnect\reconnects......

I will keep testing and report back. I really hope this fixes it. If it does, then it seems that the phone is disconnecting from bluetooth briefly whenever the display turns off.... wierd!

UPDATE

Issue still exists. During calls the phone disconnects and then reconnects every 15 seconds. Sigh. Back to the drawing board.

Now that 4.3 is announced .. I'll hit my update button often and once I get it - will definitely try it with my car and report back. Good luck all!

Samsung will probably only push out 4.3 in a few months time. So you'll be stuck with 4.2 for a while still. ;)

I hope not.... would love to regain flawless bluetooth in my car...

I am on 4.2.2 and don't have any issues with BT in my car or with my BT audio dock.
Would be seriously annoyed if I did.

From what I understand is that the BT issue only occurs when Wifi is on or connected?

Nope ... I have an nfc tag on my car keys that switches WiFI off and BT on when I get into the car. It makes no difference. For me, BT connects - waits a few seconds 5 or so - then disconnects from the car. Keeping the screen on makes no difference. *still holding thumbs 4.3 fixes this*

I finally got 4.3 onto my Galaxy Nexus - and bluetooth behaves exactly like it used to in 4.2 - it connects for a few seconds then just disconnects from the car .. argh .. g*d darnit! ... time to try Cyanogen (different bluetooth stack) or even go back to 4.1
