The Official Xiaomi Thread

Looks good from a frequency point of view. The model number 25080RABDG ending in G indicates it's the global version - there's also a C version (China), I (India) and probably more depending on where they wanted to sell it that requires changes for the local market.

i bought this , came to like R5500 in total

very nice phone

nice screen , fast loading very smooth

also its a 12gb version and has 5g

same phone goes for around 10k here

got the bundle with earpods and the strap

📱 XIAOMI 17 PRO MAX – FULL REVIEW (FLAGSHIP POSITIONING)

Xiaomi 17 Pro Max – Daily Use Review (South Africa)

I’ve been using the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max (CN variant) as a daily driver, and straight up — this is a Flagship.

⚡ Performance

Running the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, performance is exactly what you’d expect at this level:

  • Apps open instantly
  • Smooth multitasking
  • No lag under pressure

Whether it’s gaming or heavy usage, it just handles everything without slowing down.

🔋 Battery Life

This is easily one of the biggest strengths.
  • 7500mAh battery
  • Easily 1.5–2 days with normal use
  • Heavy use still gets you comfortably through the day

It’s one of the strongest battery setups you’ll find in a flagship right now.

📺 Display & Build

  • Large AMOLED display
  • Bright, sharp, and smooth
  • Feels premium in hand
Nothing about it feels like a compromise — it’s built like a high-end device.

The second display is fun and great for selfies

📸 Camera

  • Triple 50MP setup
  • Strong main camera
  • Good zoom performance
  • Solid ultrawide
It’s reliable across different conditions — not just good on paper.

🇿🇦 CN Variant (South Africa Use)

From real use:
  • Google Play works
  • English works
  • No issues on SA networks
  • No Android Auto
  • No esim
  • Notifications may be delayed but can be fixed in App settings

So in day-to-day use, it behaves like any other flagship Android phone.

Hi guys

I have a Note 11 Pro+ 5G which I recently updated to HyperOS 1.0.15.0 from 1.0.14.0. , I have the EU rom.

Now the phone chargers to 95% and it stops there, it never went to 100% after the update.

I want to downgrade to HyperOS 1.0.14.0 because everything worked fine on that. I did search online for ways to downgrade but I want to know from those of you who have successfully downgraded before without bricking your phone.

I'd appreciate it if you could also send me links to all the software I will need for the downgrade.

Thanks

The Xiaomi 17 range is excellent. What frustrates me is them not making 17 pro max global, and yet 17 and Ultra are. Android auto is deal breaker for some.

  • Go to Settings > SIM card & mobile data > Preferred network type and select 4G/LTE.
  • Restart the phone after changing the setting.
  • Check for a software update — sometimes a bug fix covers this.
  • Remove and reinsert the SIM card, then try changing the network again.
  • Reset network settings under Settings > Connection & sharing > Reset network settings. Note this will also reset Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
  • If none of those work, dial *#*#4636#*#* — this opens a hidden testing menu where you can manually set the network type.
