Ja, the cards actually say 8800 only, but my 8600GT worked fine. Are there even improvements for older cards? No reason to only release it for 8 series cards if they are normal drivers :/

They only seem to add support for 6 and 7 series cards when the driver goes to whql for some reason. Have no idea why.

Half life 2, thats weird I've run them all (Episode 1, CS:S etc) on Vista, I never finished it on XP and gave up, still gonna do it sometime.

I just installed Vista and tried to create PPPOE connections (used RASPPPOE for AMD_64bit - got a 5600+), but couldn't - Windows kept telling me that it will only accept digitally signed drivers, and that my installed driver would not work...
So :

Dislikes : The FREAKIN thing keeps asking for administrator permission to do anything, the control panel isn't in "computer" anymore and those toolbar-thumbnails are useless and they suck.
Back to my trusty XP SP2...

SP1 won't change anything if manufacturers don't get their drivers ready.
If those drivers are done now, SP1 won't make that much of a difference, and if they never get made, well the same thing with SP1.

the developer of RASPPoE said he isn't going to develop for Vista, and the current one isnt compatible because they completely redisigned the network stack. But if you want to use RouteSentry on Vista there is a way to do it now, just check the routesentry threads.
Secondly, once you've finnished setting up, the UAC prompts get less, and if they really annoy you, you can always just turn them off.
Thirdly, there is a link to the control panel in the top right hand corner of computer, and I might be mistaken, but i think there is a way to display it as an item in computer too.
Lastly, if you dont like those live preview thumbnails, just turn them off.

Heh I never got past setting everything up before I just killed it out of frustration. I suppose on OEM PC's it might be a bit more useful/ less irritating.

Had to use Vista for a microsoft project we did at work. After that i went back to XP. Too many weird problems with my current software setup. And i will not even go into hardware.
