If you only have 10 users on 1 tower, but incomming BW is ment for 2k users. What happenes to the balance of the BW?

Does it also mean that those 10 ppl get all the BW ment for 30 users?

I assume btw the are using bandwidth managment that will be the case.

If you fill up a station wagon with data tapes and drive to capetown you could transfer 10000 GB in 11 hours, and it would cost you R 500 in petrol, Thats the kind of internet I wanna see !

Assuming that they allocate bandwidth on a tower basis which wouldn't make sense. Bandwidth would in a logical world be controlled at the main connection point. The mesh of towers is there only to connect you to the central point.

If you have one user on a tower he/she/it will still only get the same speed as allocated/available as would have been with 30 users per tower.

no no ... most towers have 155Mbs links but that should never be reached ... the congestion/contention comes in further down the line ... the technology allows 3Mbs/user in perfect conditions this will probably be 1Mbs for most users the modem is locked to your package limit on connect .... there should always be more BW at the tower than demand likewise on the core network only on external should there be oversubscription

So why is MW in so much crap then? Going down...down ... down... poof

Fantasy is what people want, reality is what they need.

Just as a matter of interest, has anyone who predominently uses(used to use?) the DBN north tower cancelled at all? Because right now things are looking absoultely fantastic this side of the hill.. I have an average download rate of 26.7kB and 58kB upload (with an 83kB spike but no one cares about uploads right?)
If what Rhino says is true then either a LOT of durbanite's have cancelled OR a change has happened. Being a positive person i hope its the latter but FOR HOW LONG is what i worry about :/

<---- w00t 2 stars [:D] anyway just incase any questions arise, those are all international
