Towers filling up or something wrong

Maby they tilted the tower towards me :D

Sounds like the intelligent thing to do.

Hmmmm, that could be very posible that they changed the antenna array to a new position.
This is the reason I don't like them playing around with the tower when it's working properly like it was.

Well, properly for you isn't properly for someone else.

But I understand your frustration. Even though I dont think you have much to worry about anyway, your speeds will stay good im sure :p

Plumstead tower seems to be one of the couple that they really get right, so best leave it.

I'm sure my problem lies in the hands of congestion. Just connected and my speeds are back up - its just during the day that they need some Sasol 95 Turbo fuel..

I guess they want to expand to rural areas so that the people there can have Iburst in their area just like the big cities. It's a bit stupid though, not fixing the current congestion problem in JHB that is.

Funny speed readings...

Has anyone else in Cape Town's CBD experienced this...

Below is the data used to calculate your download speed:

Download time: 2.334 seconds
Size of file: 500 KiloBytes
Estimated line speed: 1748.1 (kilobits/second)
Estimated line speed: 214.2 (kiloBytes/second)

Been experiencing this increase in speed readings since yesterday, however my actual browsing speed is slower than usual. Also, daytime speed is abysmal now, down to 200 kbps.

Speculation: iBurst upgraded the towers but bandwidth is lacking?

Well then how would you mean upgraded? As in only in terms of signal, so that when you have a lot of bandwidth free, like at night time, then you can get higher speeds, but during the day everyone is higher than normal meaning it actually slows down instead..

You couldnt mean they upgraded the bandwidth allowence of the towers.. maby they are preparing for that somehow

That's very strange especially because you tested on 2 sites. Maybe the upgrades they did in CT were speed upgrades, but they have not mentioned any of this to anyone? Have you tried testing on the Iburst website?

iBurst website?

Generally I stay clear from that site, nothing there that is useful and I can start feeling the irritation levels rising the moment I see that orange bubble.
