I'm just curious, what are the real life (not theoretical) amounts of traffic that you people manage to generate in one month.

i supposedly generated 17 gigs of traffic in April, even though i only used my PC during three weeks. I didn't know that was practically possible on an 128K package.

Unless they've drastically increased their effective bandwidth.

If your traffic was mostly local, then you could have easily reached 17G.
For international, 9-12G would in my opinion be the upper limit.

My lowest is 7GB, highest is 87GB. Mostly averaging around 10 - 14GB

Is that with a single pc connected or do you have a number of pc's connected to a network and ics ?

My traffic would be mostly p2p traffic whic i assume would be international.

but whenever i monitor my bandwidth usage, it averages around 25% (of 128K)

So 17 gig would actually a pleasant surprise (despite the polite phonecall from sentech telling me i exceeded the 10 gig specified in the AUP)

anyway, i'll start monitoring it more accurately from now on

I have a laptop and a pc. The PC stays connected using the USB connection to the modem. As you cant signon more than once with the same username, it makes no difference how many pc's are connected on the network. They all sharing the same low bandwidth the pc would be receiving.

Did you also receive the friendly phonecall from sentech regarding that 87 gig?

They really should make some stats available on how much a person has used during a certain time, otherwise it's like driving a car without a petrol gauge.

No, and the AUP doesnt mention anything about downloading limits. It does however mention that if you continuously abuse the network, then they reserve the right to do what ever. Most probably make you signup for a higher package. Using P2P continuously could fall into this. So, get the files from other sources. Also, P2P is part of the illegal stuff if you're downloading warez/movies etc. Downloading opensource or freeware isnt illegal and I would like to see sentech say dowloading the various linux distros etc is abusing the network. Keep in mind that you get nearly full speed when you download from a local host.
