Ubiquiti UniFi - Please Help

I am worried about these extenders. I bought one already, Linksys, although its not EoP. Its been giving me so much trouble. Really not working in my setup.

I also have a concrete roof and there is no way I can lay down trunking. (Wife will not be happy)

All I want to know is what the range of the unit will be if I put it next to my router. 10 metres or 50 metres? There must be people who have used it that can attest to the range in a normal residential house.

In our open plan office it covers easily 20m.

At home I have an LR unit (higher power) attached above the stairs on the second floor and it bounces around enough to give me decent coverage downstairs where my previous AP had spotty coverage. Floor space is 6m x 11m.

Okay, 20 metres is going to be a bit low, I will need about 50 metres of coverage.

One of these ap's could not cover a room 13m away (The long range one, UAP-LR), had to add a second one for the main bedroom. Now have to add a 3rd to cover the braai room, 10m away from the first AP. Not going to do that, going to get something else. Fed up with these lol. Once they need to go through one wall it's useless, but that's just my experience with them.

I had a Asus n66u that covered the whole house, probably going to get another Asus. Expensive but worth it as the speeds are way way way faster as well. Max copy speed I get wile connecting to the UAP-LR is 3.6MB/s from 10m away, Asus was 15MB/s at that distance.
Also found no difference between distance with the UAP and UAP-LR.

Thank you, I am also a big fan of Asus but my wife dropped the thing and the internal antennae wiring must have got some damage as the range decreased a lot.
