Vibecoding: a beginner's guide

I've been building a project with a combo of chatGPT, Claude and Gemini free tiers and switched across to a paid claude account yesterday. It's TOTALLY worth it. I might not keep the paid account indefinitely, but it can just do so much more. Apart from the much, much hier limits, the direct access to sourcecode means I can give it an instruction and it can run by itself without me having to continuously cut and paste commands and code fragmensts between it and the server.

If you hit limits try Deepseek API via Reasonix. They're increasing prices soon but it's still dirt cheap and there's no monthly sub...just top up as needed.

Think I'm going to give Claude 20$ + TAX a bash after trying various free platforms.
Depending on your workflow & usage just pay for Pro @ 20 USD ±391 ZAR (month to month).

I joined the club last week & no regrets, I've got a healthy amount of overhead now.

There, this guy gets it!

Claude only charged me 10$ for Claude Pro this month. Says next month it will be normal price. Strange ive used it in the past and got free months as well, but didn't use it for coding.

I know I'm late on the bus but can I just say Claude Remote Control is pretty awesome. I've got Claude running on my VPS and then send it prompts from my phone or laptop. It slaves still away on its own whether my laptop is online or not.

Yep, only the premium models are actually meant for doing things more agenticly/MCP calls. It can just get very expensive quickly having the Cloude Opus 5 run off doing stuff.

You gonna need Pro+ if you want Claude to run off splurging your credits. Learn to use a planning session with Claude to create a plan doc with work steps before letting it implement the plan. The planning session can probably done fine with a mid tier model, but to implement the plan, you need a Pro+ premium model.

Creating a plan is not vibecoding. Vibecoding is only for noobs to make them think they can build apps. Creating a plan is part of spec driven AI development.

In my current workflow I will spend up to 5mins fine tuning a prompt in ChatGPT to pass to Claude Pro for the actual heavy lifting.

All about limiting back & forth, less reframing & less token usage.

A quality AI end result is only as good as the prompt given.
