Hi everyone, i have noticed that the virgin network has been down since yesterday, but i have been able to access a part of it on my phone. My phone gives me a very strange message, it says on top that there is no network, but below those words, it tells me im connected to a signal tower. Anyone know whether im
being charged for my use even though im semi connected?
Is there a way to check my balance on my account without *101#, If i call them, will they tell me my balance?

Hi Cellular,

We have had some technical issues impacting some of our customers, to my knowledge they are largely resolved.

If you call 123, they will be able to indicate your usage and outstanding amount. The data comes from the same source as USSD string.

Regards,

Gerald.

This has been happening a lot lately. The last one was (according to the operators) "a scheduled shutdown".

However, the customers were not warned in advance - why not?

[I'm on MTN this week :D]

Hi Cellular,

You pay 1c to establish as connection & GPRS will only apply when you download data. You can stay connected for as long as you want but u'l only be charged for donwloads.

Hi Skeptik,

The network crashed over the weekend. It looks like all systems have been restored. We do appoligise for the break.

Please let us know if you have any more problems regarding the network issues.
