Hi guys,

Something has been bothering me lately so I decided to post my views. I would like you guys to correct me if i am wrong.

1. Virginmobile South Africa is not a MVNO according to current licencing conditions. i.e They have not be issued with a MVNO Licence from ICASA.

2. Virginmobile South Africa is only an enhanced Service Provider of Cell-C products. i.e Nashuamobile & Autopage should have similar benefits.

3. An Sms sent from a Virginmobile to a Cell-C number should be charged at rates offered from Virgin to Virgin. i.e 20c per sms

4. Calls made from Cell-c to Virgin on weekends should be free as Cell-c 2 Cell-c this is a free service for 120 minutes. As Virgin is just reselling Cell-C's product.

Please post your feedback as I am trying to get clarity on this issue.

I am e-mailing ICASA for some answers as well.

Should it be found that Virgin & Cell-C are contravening current Legislation then they might have to reconsider their options.

Regards

DXL - Team

I don't think so. The obligation between the VM subscriber and VM is not affected by what kinda of benefits CellC provides to its own subscribers. That would be like saying that bandwidth resellers are obligated to provide the same ****ty service/nasty contracts as Telkom.

I had to ponder the point of this thread.

Same here. DXL, do you Want to bring VM & CellC to the ground? Anyway, I Doubt they are doing anything they are not allowed to do.

1) Dont know.
2) Yes all of them are ESP. Have a look here... http://hellcom.co.za/articles/view.php?id=1832
Found one that states that VM is a Mobile Virtual Network Operator: http://mybroadband.co.za/news/Cellular/135.html

I'm not even going to continue. Whats the point? VM probaby signed a Joint Venture, or some other contract that Nasua etc did not sign. Problem Solved.

Cell C is doing a fine job digging its own grave:p Hopefully they can get a sucker (read Telkom) so save their butts:p
