Vodacom Prepaid Roaming

I called customer care to enable roaming on my prepaid sim cos im traveling to Europe next week. To my surprise the consultant informed me that they only have roaming to 4 countries in Africa, even though the website incidates UK, France, Germany for prepaid.

As usual they blamed the website.

eerm You can roam internationally (europe incl) with a vodacom contract why should ther be any difference otherwise

Vodacom should really stop limiting the countries where PrePaid can be used to roam. I can stick a 02 / Vodafone prepaid sim (from the UK) in my phone here and I get roaming witout activating anyhting or even calling customer care... even get a nice Welcome to SA sms That is how it should be done.

i went and checked the website out of curiosity, and i don't seem to find any references to the european countries you mention, dojob. if they changed the site already, that was really fast

Im gonna take my fone with me and see what happens. Acording to vodacom for prepaid roaming to dont have to active any thing on your sim.

Buy a pre-paid SIM in the country you will be visiting. It will be cheaper than roaming with a pre-paid or contract SIM.

Ja it works out much cheaper. When I was in the UK I used o2 and on the weekends my calls to other o2 numbers and BT landlines was only 2p per minute

hmm, strange... i went to www.vodacom.co.za, and then under "packages", selected "prepaid packages". one of the links on the page that opens up, is for "international roaming", which lists only a few african countries...?

edit: ah, okay, found it... you went to "services" and then "international roaming", right?
they really should update the site with the correct info...
