I have seen a special on this webpage: http://www.vodacom.co.za/getSpecials.do

It is for a Samsung D900 at R69pm. Now it says exclusive to Vodashop and/or Nashua Mobile. I have spoken to Nashua here in dbn and the special has nothing to do with them. I have called Vodacom, Vodashop, VodacomDirect and they all say the special has nothing to do with them. Could someone please help me here... I am in Durban and want to sign up. I am a MTN loyalist but this is a really good deal but is proving to be a mission !

Look at the bottom left hand corner of the AD, EXCLUSIVE TO VODAWORLD

Yes so why is it when I phone Vodaworld they tell me to get the phone from Vodacom Direct ???? And then VodacomDirect know nothing of the special.

Seriously if its this difficult to deal with Vodacom - especially when I am trying to GIVE them business then maybe I should rather stay with MTN and pay a bit more for better service.

Very wise decision!

Who would want Telkom as their service provider? Just have a look on www.hellopeter.com, Vodacom & Telkom refuse to subscribe - says a lot, doesn't it?

Except that Vodacom is listed on hellopeter.com as a company that does respond to customer complaints & concerns, and is currently in #2 position near the top, whilst MTN is nowhere in the top 5 of either list.

I've been with MTN for 8 years now on contract and never had a hiccup.

yes i agree to an extent it's luck of the draw.. nevertheless i've been with vodacom for +7yrs now and no problems..

but too many of my friends who were on MTN have had problems especialy with billing.. they dont get the bank account numbers correct and you end up being blacklisted even tho you've given them the correct details countles times..

it does kinda make me hesitate to migrate, even tho MTN's 220 minute package does seem more apealing than vodacom's talk 240 offering.. 220 anytime minutes for about R330 as opposed to 240 anytime minutes at around R450..

lol

Indeed!
I know what you are referring to. Had the exact same thing happen to me. Kept on being pushed somewhere else, no one knowing what is going on.

It would seem I also praised MTN too quickly - I cancelled my ProCall 600 account two months ago, but they still billed me for the FULL amount this month! When I phoned them (you would've expected them to phone me) to ask for an explanation, they were very vague and wanted to refund me R638! I told them that I paid R949 for a Procall 600 monthly and asked an accountant how they got to the magical amount of R638 - she couldn't tell me, because 'the system' works it out.

I think I'm even considering now to join Vodacom - just appalling service from MTN!!
