WBS responds on ITweb.... AND LIES

Thus, lets assume a 40:1 contention ratio :

4000 users on 64k would mean they need a 6.25mb pipe for ALL users on their network at this stage.

yeah, and you havent even factored in the multiplexing ratios on the upstream provider (uunet). I seriously doubt that iBurst are getting 1:1 on the SAT3 cable. They are most probably on a 1:3 or 1:6 because its MUCH MUCH MUCH cheaper. And this leads me to my suspicion : shaping DOES NOT WORK on a multiplexed line because the device does not have a guarantee on the carrier. How can it shape for bandwidth it doesnt always get? It just confused the box and fcuks up everything. Me thinks this is where it started going wrong for iBurst and Sentech...

About that 3.6.1 issue,

How can downloading more than 3 gig, cause this "or an impairment or interruption to the MDN Services".

Surely at the start of the month everybody can download at full speed, so WBS needs to have the bandwidth for a reasonable service at that time of month. Now all the sudden, in the middle of the month when people download more than they should, now only it starts impairing services...

HUH?

If they were running cap resets/groups 2 or 3 or 4 times a month, then sure!, understood, but what happens in the first few days of the month????

I believe its illegal to disconnect.

it wasn't imparing services, thats thier lie, anybody who was here march can tell you that, look at the end of march when everyone knew the cap was coming and downloaded like crazy, we're talking 8GB a day per person being eaten up and the network was fine, the only difference between then and now is the bandwith manager, thats what impaired the network, thier fault not ours.

obviously you have people who think the slow speeds were due to abusers cuz WBS told them so and they aren't really computer minded, but for the rest of us, its a stinky lie,
